Reiki Treatments
“Teaching Reiki is not just about teaching students the art of Reiki healing, but equally about empowering the individual student to believe in themselves, their ability to think about Reiki logically, and their ability to make positive changes in and around themselves.” Denise Allen, Caring Palms
Reiki is a Japanese method of hands-on healing that gently encourages the body back to an optimal balance. Originating at the turn of the 20th century, Reiki energy is given when a trained practitioner places their hands on or above the energy centres on the client’s body. The practitioner transfers the healing Reiki energy to the recipient who may feel a gentle warmth, coolness, or a wave of relaxation.
Reiki is a holistic treatment which treats both the cause and the symptoms of illness, benefiting the body, emotions, mind and spirit. During the treatment most people experience a deep state of relaxation and wellbeing with many reporting miraculous results.
Reiki treatment is based on the concept that a life force, or biofield, flows through and around each of us. When our life force is strong and vibrant, we feel well, relaxed and at peace. But when it is disrupted, our ability to cope with physical and mental challenges is reduced.
When we receive Reiki or give it to ourselves, the body is given an additional source of energy to rebalance and replenish its life force or biofield, which strengthens its ability to heal and increases resistance to stress.
Reiki is not a religion, nor do you need to be any particular religion to benefit from Reiki. Some people do find that Reiki is a spiritual experience; many simply enjoy the relaxing and healing benefits of Reiki without any spiritual expectations.
Yes, Reiki is a wonderful tool for stress management. There are a number of studies that have proven that Reiki can significantly reduce blood pressure and anxiety levels. Reiki sessions are incredibly relaxing and calming and are ideal for nurturing and healing both physically and emotionally.
This is very dependent upon the individual and their needs. It is recommended that when you first receive Reiki, you follow up with another two sessions within a couple of weeks.
When you receive Reiki, your body is given a boost of energy which increases its ability to heal at a faster rate and to restore and maintain a natural balance. Reiki also increases the body’s vibratory rate to match that of the Reiki energy which is the vibration of health and balance…
By receiving several initial Reiki treatments within a short period, the body is better able to utilize this healing energy and regain its natural balance. From there, you can arrange to have sessions weekly, fortnightly or monthly, or whenever you feel the need for a ‘top up’.
Expect your Reiki session to take an hour. Clients will also have the opportunity to discuss their experience and ask questions after each session.
